History Public
Administration Program has opened for
instruction since 1998. The program
emphasizes in creating undergraduate
students who will possess
characteristics, performance and
knowledge in aspects of public
administration management and local
administration knowledge and ability
corresponding to social and labor market
under the economics change, society,
politics and direction of the
university; therefore, the program has
been improved continuously. In 2006, the
program opened for instruction in 4
fields, for example 1) public
administration 2) local administration
3) administration of justice and 4)
administration of development according
to sufficiency economy philosophy in
order to create undergraduate students
in correspondence with social context in
that time. Later, a
notification of Higher Education
Commission regarding a performance
guideline according to Thai
Qualification Framework (TQF), B.E.
2552, thereby making the program, B.E
2549 to be improved. The developing
standard qualification of fields in
accordance with TQF of this notification
makes the program to be specific, depth
and deep in content. Intelligence level
and learning in conformity with
qualification level establishes learning
development and improvement of the 2 new
programs: 1) Public Administration
Program, Public Administration
(revision), B.E 2554 and 2) Public
Administration Program, Local
Administration (revision), B.E.2554 in
management of public administration
major and new major: local
administration. Development and
improvement of public administration
program was not only for performing in
accordance with the notification of
Higher Education Commission but the
planning for development also considered
the change of society, politics,
economics and creating undergraduate
students to respond to social needs;
that is to say, social progress
affecting by information technology and
modern communication affects frequent
development in public administration.
Further, behavior of the new generations
affects the change in behavior of public
personnel to emphasize on service with
better quality with the new public
administration; community has to
participate in policy procedure; thus,
an academic cooperation between
institutes and external units, including
organization units (both public and
private one), as well as, local
community to determine vocational and
academic standards to be obtained from
undergraduate students. Finally, a
creation of public administration
undergraduate students possessing
potential in order to compete in labor
marketing leading to other development
of Public Administration program in 2016
by combining Public Administration
Program, Public Administration
(revision), B.E. 2554 and Public
Administration Program, Local
Administration, B.E. 2554 together as
“Public Administration Program
(revision), B.E. 2559” and
dividing into 3 fields, for example
Local Administration, Public
Administration and Public and Private
Administration under policy and
direction for development of SSRU
towards international master. Therefore,
the programs must be developed according
to international and domestic-accepted
standards, create leading quality
undergraduate students according to the
needs of communities and society in
knowledge-based society and global
citizen, as well as, innovate and create
private and public administration and
local administration
knowledge. Nowadays,
Public Administration Program
(revision), B.E.2559 is managed and
develops instruction by Public
Administration, department of Social
Science, faculty of Humanities and
Social Science, SSRU.
